“I am most connected to the land when I am listening to the bow river flow.
This land is traditional home of the Blackfoot Confederacy, including the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai, the Tsuut’ina Nation and Stoney-Nakoda Nations, including the Goodstoney, Chiniki, and Bearspaw, and the People of Métis Nation of Alberta, District 4.
I see all the seasons come and go, I hear the red wing black birds sing in the wetlands and I smell the tulips in my front yard. I spend my time with the river rocks at Bowness park. I am grateful to call this place my home while continuing to learn about Indigenous ways of decolonization that centers truth and reconciliation.”
